"Does heaven have tools?"

Here we are, June 26! WOW!!  And it's HOT!!!  This past weekend we enjoyed a GREAT family day at the Ranch with the in-laws.  We fished, shopped at a local store favorite (yes, in corsicana!) swam in the tank, cooked out and enjoyed a delicious watermelon!  It was Drake's first time to have watermelon and he LOVED it!! 

We started swim lessons on Monday, well Drake started swim lessons.  He is sure not afraid of going under!  The teacher told me at the end, "he's not scared of much, huh? He's just scary." I laughed...what else could I do!? It's sure true.  Drake has definitely come completely out of his shell and just explores things, before thinking of the end result.  I must admit that I am proud though, that at least he's trying things.  

Every morning, well every day for that matter I try to talk to Drake about God and all the many blessings we have to thank him for.  I started this 31 ways to pray with your toddler...its a skeleton, where I can pull from what I think Drake will or wont grasp.  I usually end up talking way more and explaining far too deep into it because he just probes me for more information.  Today was heaven and we were in the car talking about going to heaven, etc.  Drake was very quietly listening, I could see the wheels turning in his head through the rear mirror.  He interrupted me kindly and asked; "MOM!  Does heaven have tools, to play with!?" Mercy me...I couldn't help but giggle.  "yes, Drake they do and you can play with them." Drake: "Oh, with Jesus too!?!?"  Yes, of course with Jesus! 

Well folks...hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!!  I can't believe the 4th of JULY is next week!?  I'm ready to take Drake to see the fireworks!!!

Summer LOVIN'

Well...well, we meet again. This means, I have finally found time to do a little uploading of photos.  SUMMER...wow, it's really hard to believe; isn't it?!  It sure does feel like it outside, right!!??  Drake and I have spent LOTS of time on his new "park" in our backyard, aka the swing set.  He is absolutely in LOOOVE with it.  When it got delivered to the house, he thanked the delivery truck driver unconditionally.  Then, when J arrived home from work (all day) he promptly addressed the fact that it only required screws and a hammer for proper assembly.  Jason and I looked at one another and simply couldn't hold back, we laughed soooo hard!  He's such a smart little guy...makes us sooo PROUD!

This week, Drake and I are at VBS at hillcrest.  We are having such a great time!  I have been blessed to be his teacher this year and BOY let me tell you, I have a WHOLE new respect for Drake's teachers in the past.  HE IS A MESS!  I mean, he has good manners, goes to the bathroom and cleans up his messes but lord have mercy, I thought he was busy at home...WOWEE!!!

Drake is SERIOUSLY into building forts and obstacle course.  It's just another constant reminder to me, that he is 100% ALL BOY!!  Friday morning we had to zip out of the house pretty early but it didn't stop Drake from a couple of runs through his obstacle course.  :)  We might have been a touch late but I just couldn't pass up these cute shots! 

Daddy's boots are made for STOMPING!!  Yes, they are but it would be nice if DADDY would pre stomp all the mud off before bringing them into my house.  Ohhh well, Drake had fun!  I swept the floors a dozen times Sunday!

Fixing my hair!  Looks great Drake!   OHHHH...take a look in all of the above pictures and I am sure you will notice the BIG hunk of missing hair on Drake's head.  YES, he has grown to a liking of cutting and buzzing his head.  I sure hope we have less of these encounters as in never again!

Gaylord lovin'

Jason and I just celebrated our 4th Wedding anniversary, April 19.  I can hardly even believe we have been married 4 whole years.  Time just goes by entirely too fast.  We celebrated, with visiting the Gaylord, hotel and resort in Grapevine.  It was a fantastic choice...we had such a relaxing and FUN weekend! It's so funny to me...Jason and I are both early risers and of course with that you typically are off to la la land early too, and we most def are.  BUT you would think that while vacationing you would somewhat veer from your day to day routine, right?  NOPE, not us.  We were in bed both night by 9!!!  We were absolutely exhausted from doing soooo many activities.  ANNNNDDDD....eating soooo much food, will simply wear you out in its self. LOL!

Checked in Saturday and skimmed the hotel grounds, Jason had never been.  Then we headed for dinner at PF Changs, my FAVORITE!  Although we had horribly sloppy service, enough to the point where I composed a complaint and sent it to headquarters kinda service! It was easily made up with delicious frozen yogurt at this local shop on main street. YUMMY to my tummy!  We had such a good time compiling all our favorites into our dishes.  The only thing about that is then you have to weigh it!!! Let's just say we spent $13 and some change on ICE cream! lol!!!

Sunday was action packed! Started with a rather LARGE breakfast brunch on the Riverwalk. Then we walked the trails all around the outside perimeter of the Gaylord, BEAUTIFUL!  Jason, my handsome hubs is not the walker, site seer type of person but man did he ever impress ME!!  LOVE HIM!!!

Then we headed to dtown grapevine and southlake for some shopping.  Then back to relax by the pool and we did, resulting in Jason getting a horribly bad sunburn! Sorry babe!  You just dont have that good sun skin like me, LOL!  Dinner was at Anamias, a very yummy and highly recommended mexican rest in southlake,  then off to dessert at another fro yo place, self serve again. We spent some $$$ on fro yo!! 

Monday we lounged in the bed before checkout and just took our time getting back to reality.  We shopped some more and had lunch at a favorite of both, Hooters!  Went to pick up Drake and he was just too cute with his greeting! If only he would of stayed that sweet a little longer.  These terrible twos, horrible threes are just a challenge! 

We didn't snap that many photos, we were just simply too BUSY!

Blogging daily is for the BIRDS...

OKAY...so I have aloud myself to fall short of what I wanted to accomplish with my blog.  I set out to use it as a daily to weekly, family journal.  I started off GREAT(frosted flakes, tiger voice) but I have since dwindled.  So, I have now decided that I am just going to do it when I can.  

Easter

WE had such a fabulous Easter weekend.  Clinton(UB) came in town with his little girlfriend Megan.  They are too cute for words, I am so proud they have found one another! We had a cookout at our casa...enjoyed some muy deliciouso food, followed by of course a scrumptious dessert.  I absolutely LOOOVE dessert.  And we just hung out, the Rangers game was one, so we all know what Dad and Clinton were doing! hee hee
